Hebrew folklore is incorporated here into a song for mixed choir, which includes an optional part for tambourine and has a traditional, recognizable melody: a melody that became known in the modern Christian community mainly through its use in another song, King of Kings. With this new composition, Lloyd Larson knows how to festively process the cry of joy that sounded at Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday in a form that can be achieved with minimal instrumentation.
