Description

A 16th century English Christmas carol performed in Coventry as part of a mystery play describing the Christmas story, based on the second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. The text of this carol describes a mother's lament for her child who is doomed to strife. Christmas: King Herod in his wrath has ordered his men to kill all the young children. Woe is me, I mourn for you, my child.
