Easter: During Holy Week and Good Friday, the Bible passage of Isaiah 53 verses 4 and 5 is often quoted (His stripes have healed us). Joseph M. Martin took the text and incorporated it into a hymn in which passionate choral singing, accompanied by a chamber music arrangement, expresses the emotions of the well-known passage. A bridge with male and female solo singing full of drama calls out the Kyrie eleison (Have mercy, Lord). Excellent for use around a meditative moment.
