Oh, Happy Day or Oh Happy Day is the 1967 gospel arrangement of an 18th century hymn (lyrics by Philip Doddridge inspired by Acts of the Apostles 8:35), released by The Edwin Hawkins Singers.
The 1969 single featuring soloist Dorothy Combs Morrison sold over a million copies within two months. The single reached number two in the UK and number four in the US national charts.
In Germany and the Netherlands, among other countries, the song was number one for 2 weeks. The single sold more than 7 million copies worldwide. It was initially released on the LP Let Us Go into the House of the Lord (1968) on Pavilion Records and a year later on the LP Oh, Happy Days (1969) Biddulph Records. (Source: Wikipedia)
